Sailed the same set as yesterday: JP FSW 102 with Goya Banzai 6.0 and MFC 29cm Improved the trim for better upwind. It was almost a repeat of yesterday, wind a little less, waves just a little nicer. Less jumping, but more back-side waveriding. It was sometimes possible to get 2 to 3 hits on 1 wave. Sailed until the 6.0 with minimum trim was again too small to be able to plane properly. Seen a seal, very close to the beach. Less sun, so colder, wind was quite good, nice sailing. When are we going to get SW wind again? [Read...]

Wind forecasted for early evening. Sailed with the JP FSW 102 with Goya Banzai 6.0 and MFC 29cm Fairly flat water. Beyond the measuring pole, the water became a bit more restless, but not as bad as last week. Here you could sometimes find nice steep waves for some waveriding. It was dry, sometimes a bit of sun, cold, but didn't need gloves, even sailed a bit without the cap. Later, with the sun dropping, it got a bit colder. [Read...]

N to NNE 16 to 21 knots predicted. Sailed with the iSonic 101 and E-Type 6.6. Started with the SL-X 34cm, later switched to the Busca. As always, tricky chop/waves at Perry's, especially beyond the measuring pole, and with the iSonic only more difficult. Really had to get used to the circumstances. Clear blue sky, good wind. Fortunately, no high shore break today, so easy in and out of the water, that's not always the case at Perry's. I was able to save a Belgian surfer his session by borrowing a fin. [Read...]

For today strong winds predicted, SW, should be a beautiful day at sea. Good time to test the Tri-Wave 89, along with the Banzai 4.2. Started with MFC 19/12cm fins. Board sailed a lot better than last time, other fins, different footstraps. A lot of waveriding, a bit of jumping. Wind became stronger and more gusty. Water chaotic during incoming tide. Tried some other fins: MFC 19/10cm, which seemed to give more control, although the wind also seemed to have decreased and sea more calm. It was cold, unfortunately no sun. Wind was strong an very gusty. [Read...]

In 2019 North Sails windsurfing changed its name to Duotone. As a fan of North Sails, I didn't like it. North Sails is coming back now. Pieter Bijl has been spotted prototypes for a while now, now there are official photos. They are based on the 3Di technique. These should be lighter and more durable [Read...]
